The EMS system is designed for any age and body type – from the young sportsperson through to older people looking for help with mobility and fitness.

Busy professionals, time-poor parents, people working through injuries (because it is very low impact and you can control the intensity), or just anyone looking for an effective solution that is also economical in terms of time.

In general, EMS training is suitable for almost everyone. All clients should consult with a physician before starting any new workout regimen and EMS training is no exception – certain health conditions are contraindicated and will need medical clearance from a Specialist or General Practitioner.

Even though there is an electrical current involved with the EMS system it is very low impulse and completely safe, gentle and will not cause you any pain or discomfort as you exercise.

You can be confident that your personal trainer will adjust their frequency to the most suitable and comfortable training impulse level for you.

EMS technology uses electrical currents to stimulate the muscles and it has been widely used in hospitals and physiotherapy centres as a safe and effective rehabilitation treatment for decades with great results. Our device has been tested vigorously and meets the Australian and worldwide safety standards. It has also won many internationally recognised awards.

The chance of an electric shock is absolutely zero.

Our machines use the most up-to-date scientific results in the background. These methods are also used in medical applications; the electrical muscle stimulators play an important role in the area of rehabilitation.

No. The electrical impulses might hurt the fetus, so we do not recommend our training for pregnant women. Of course, Embody Fitness & Wellness can be an ideal partner for rehabilitation and reforming of the body after childbirth. EMS is perfect for mothers to rebuild deep lying pelvic floor muscles and overall body strength. However, a doctor’s certificate is required before beginning training. This is usually around 6 weeks after giving birth.
  • Burn fat and tone your muscles
  • Build muscle strength
  • Reduce cellulite due to boost in blood circulation to the tissues and it’s ability to tone muscles and tighten connective tissue.
  • Improve your fitness, mood, sleep, weight and posture.
  • Kind to joins and tendons as there is not jumping, running or twisting.

70% of all back pain occurs in the lumbar area (lower back). Back pain can be the result of muscular imbalances (extensor and flexor muscles in the torso) which can be caused by bad posture. The function of stabilising muscles is inhibited, and the back pain gets worse. After only 2 sessions of EMS 20% of clients reported being pain free, with 50% after 6 weeks. Overall, 88% of participants reduced their back pain dramatically.

Yes. In the first phase of the training, you will lose centimetres and in the second phase, fat deposits are attacked. Because of the increased muscle activity, energy consumption heightens which causes more calories to be burned resulting in weight loss!

YES! EMS training is low impact and puts less stress on joints. It is perfect for a low intensity workout for health and well-being.

Make sure you’re well hydrated throughout the day of your EMS training and ensure your last meal was eaten 2-3 hours before your session, so you have sufficient energy for your workout.

Arrive 10 minutes before your booking time to allow time to change and get ready. We would recommend you do not do any other training on the day of your EMS workout.

You may experience muscle fatigue immediately after the session, and muscle soreness from around 24 hours. Delay onset muscle soreness may peak at around 48 hours post workout. Make sure you stay well hydrated post workout.

The difference will be felt straight after your first workout, due to your body releasing endorphins, your circulation increasing and your posture automatically improving – due to the recent muscle activation. After a couple of days, some muscle stiffness will be felt, which is entirely normal. After approximately 3 to 4 sessions, you will not only feel, but see a visible difference from the EMS training. Of course, as with conventional training, EMS training should be done regularly to maintain and ensure optimal results.

The EMS full body workout activates over 90% of the muscle fibres simultaneously during each contraction. This grants an advantage over conventional strength training as deeper muscles are also being used and targeted.

Because EMS activates the muscles fibres in a non-regular order, an intense level of training is enabled right from the start. This creates more muscle fibres at an accelerated rate and results in gaining more muscle. Therefore, the use of EMS training allows for a much more rapid effect with visible results, in less time!
